This large Victorian terraced house underwent a comprehensive refurbishment programme to lower running costs and increase energy efficiency through our renewable energy solutions.

Heat-loss and increased air-tightness, substantially reducing energy consumption was achieved through double glazing, draft proofing and insulation.

The flat roof was fitted with two solar panels that heat the water and ten photovoltaic panels to generate electricity. The hot water requirement for the house is covered entirely during the summer months, whilst the electricity generated is sold back onto the grid.

In order to allow the solar collectors and equipment to be installed on the roof, we were required to build a structural steel system to support the panels and reinforce the structure. We also super insulated the flat roof.
